This study argues that there is little hope of maintaining quality in higher and further education unless those in academia share common goals. It demonstrates how results can be achieved if the principles of high quality learning are applied along with total quality management-type strategies. The second half of the book contains case studies which offer commentary on the thesis of the text and examples of practice designed to encourage quality assurance.
